Contoh 1 :
Once
upon a time, there was a beautiful girl called Cindrella. She lived with her
step sister and step mother. They were very bossy. She had to do all the
housework.
One day an invitation to the ball came
to the family. Her step sister did not let her go, so Cindrella was very sad.
The step sister went to the ball without her.
Fortunately, the fairy good other came
and helped her to get to the ball. At the ball, Cindrella danced with the
princes. The prince fell in love with her then he married her. They lived
happily ever after.
Contoh 2 :
Once upon a time there lived a little
girl named Snow White. She lived with her aunt and uncle because her parents
had died.
One day she heard her uncle and aunt
talking about living Snow White in the castle because they both wanted to go to
America
and they didn’t have money to take Snow White with them.
Snow White didn’t want her uncle and
aunt to do this so she decided to run away. The next day she ran away from home
when her aunt and uncle were having breakfast .She ran away into the woods. She
was very tired and hungry. Then she saw a little cottage. She knocked but no
one answered. So, she went inside and fell asleep.
Meanwhile the seven dwarfs were
coming home from work. They went inside there they found Snow White sleeping.
Then Snow White woke up. She saw dwarfs, one of the dwarfs asked: “What is your
name?” Snow White answered, “My name is Snow White.”
The dwarf said, “If you wish, you
may live here with us.” Snow White said, “Oh, could I? Thank you.” Then Snow
White told the dwarfs the whole story about. Snow White and the seven dwarfs
lived happily ever.

Contoh 3 :
Miss Crow has stolen a big piece of cheese, and flew away on to a branch
to enjoy it. A sly fox, who wanted the
cheese for himself, came up and spoke politely
to her.
“Oh,
Miss Crow, how beautiful you are! What a lovely beak, what a lovely feathers
you have! What pretty eyes! If only you could sing, you would be the most beautiful
bird in the world.
Very
pleased to hear all of this abut herself, Miss Crow gave a loud croak to show that she could sing. Of
course, the moment she opened her beak, the cheese fell down, and Mr. Fox ran
away with it, laughing loudly.

The Lion and The Mouse
Once when a lion was asleep, a little
mouse began running up and down
upon him; this soon awoke the lion,
who placed his huge paw upon him,
and open his big jaws to swallow him. “Pardon, O king,” cried
the little mouse, “Forgive me this
time, I shall never forget it; perhaps I may be able to do you a good turn some
of these days.”
The lion was so tickled at the idea of the mouse being able to help him. Then, he lifted up his paw and let him go.
Sometime after, the lion was caught in a trap. Some hunters, who wanted to carry him alive to the King,
tied him to a tree while they went
in search of a wagon to carry him
in. Just then, the little mouse happened to pass by and see the sad plight in which the lion was. The
little mouse went up to him and soon gnawed
away the ropes that bounded the king
of the beasts. Soon after the little
mouse had finished gnawing away the ropes, he asked the lion to run away.
Contoh 5 :
Once upon a time, a rabbit
wanted to cross a river, but he could not swim. He had an idea. He saw a boss
of crocodile swimming in the river. The rabbit asked the boss of crocodile,
“How many crocodiles are there in the river?” The boss of crocodile answered,
“We are twenty here.” Where are they?” the rabbit asked for the second time.
“What is it for?” the boss of crocodile asked.
All of you are good, nice,
gentle and kind, so I want to make a line in order. Later I’ll know how kind
you are,” said the rabbit. Then, the boss of crocodile called all his friends
and asked them to make a line in order from one side to the other side of the
river. Just then, the rabbit started to count while jumping from one crocodile
to another; one ….. two…… three….. four ….. until twenty, and finally, he
thanked all crocodiles because he had crossed the river.
Contoh 6 :
The
Hen with the Silver Eggs
One
day, in an Arabian city, a woman went to the market and bought a beautiful hen.
A few days later to her surprise the hen she bought laid a silver egg. If the
hen could only be persuaded to lay more than one egg each day, the woman was
sure she would never have to work again.
So
the woman decided to make the hen eat more, so that it could lay more eggs. But
the only result was that the hen died of indigestion and did not lay more eggs
at all.
Contoh 7 :
Malin Kundang
Long time ago, in a small
village near the beach in West Sumatera, lived
a woman and her son, Malin Kundang. Malin Kundang's father had passed away when
he was a baby, and he had to live hard with his mother. Malin Kundang was a
healthy, diligent, and strong child. He usually went to the sea to catch fish,
and brought it to his mother, or sold it in the town.
One day, when Malin Kundang was
sailing as usual, he saw a merchant's ship which was being raided by a small
band of pirates. With his brave and power, Malin Kundang defeated the pirates.
The merchant was so happy and asked Malin Kundang to sail with him. Malin
Kundang agreed. Many years later, Malin Kundang became a wealthy merchant, with
a huge ship, loads of trading goods, many ship crews, and a beautiful wife. In
his journey, his ship landed on a beach. The villagers recognized him, and the
news ran fast in the town: Malin Kundang became a rich man and now he is here.
His mother, in deepful sadness after years of loneliness, ran to the beach to
meet her beloved son again.
When the mother came, Malin
Kundang, in front of his well-dressed wife, its crews and his own glories,
denied meeting that old, poor and dirty woman. For three times she begged Malin
Kundang and for three times yelled at him. At last Malin Kundang said to her
"Enough, old woman! I have never had a mother like you, a dirty and ugly
peasant!" Then he ordered his crews to set sail.
Enraged, she cursed Malin
Kundang that he would turn into a stone if he did not apologize. Malin Kundang
just laughed and set sail. In the quiet sea, suddenly a thunderstorm came. His
huge ship was wrecked and it was too late for Malin Kundang to apologize. He
was thrown by the wave out of his ship, fell on a small island, and suddenly
turned into stone.
Contoh 8 :
Once upon a time there were two
sisters. One of them was rich but had no children, while the other was a poor
widow who had five children.
One day, the poor widow no longer had
enough food to satisfy herself and her children. In her need, therefore, she
went to her sister and said, “My children and I are suffering the greatest
hunger. You are my beloved sister and you are rich. Please give a mouthful of
bread.”
The very rich sister was too stingy to
give some food to her sister and said, “I myself have nothing in the house,”
and she drove away her sister with harsh words.
After some time, the husband of the
rich sister came home and was just going to cut himself a piece of bread. When
he made the first cut into the loaf, out flowed red blood.
When the maid saw that, she was very
terrified and told him what his wife had done to the poor widow. After hearing
the maid’s story, the husband hurried away to help the poor widow and her
children. But when he entered the widow’s room, he found her praying. She had
her two youngest children in her arms and the three eldest were lying dead. He
offered her food, but she refused it and answered, “We no longer have a desire
for earthly food. God has already satisfied the hunger of the three of us, and
He will listen to our supplications likewise.”
After she uttered these words, the two
little ones drew their last breath. Five second later, the poor widow sank down
and died.
