Yesterday,
at my school we had International Day. We had performances, food stalls, riffle
ticket draw, and some of us were dressed in costumes.
We
started our day off with performances but the one liked best was the one from
our grade. It was about games. The performance I was in was called ‘La Bamba’.
Straight after performance we had lunch. There were food stalls. They came from
Australia, Asia, Arab and Greece.
Everyone had a job. I did my job after I had lunch. My job was to sell
International Day books. We had displays in he halls. The displays were good
but I didn’t get to see them. The displays came from a lot of countries. There
were also a Trash & Treasure stall where they sell toys. The school got
them by asking children to bring them in. After lunch we had a raffle ticket
draw. I didn’t win anything but a lot people did.
Although
I didn’t win anything, International Day was still fun.

My brother and I went to a football match yesterday. Our school
team was playing against another High School team. Our team wore red and white
shirts, white shorts, and red stockings.
The other team wore orange and black shirts, orange shorts, and
black stockings. “They look like bees“, my brother said, and we laughed.
They played like bees too. They ran very fast, attacked very hard,
and passed the ball to each other very fast. Soon they scored their first goal.
My brother and I shouted and shouted,
“Come on, Valley
School! Come on, the
Valleys!” Our headmaster was near us and he was shouting too. He seemed very
enthusiastic. However, the high school scored another goal. We were very sad.
Then, one of the “bees” stopped the ball with one of his hands, so
our team got the free kick. Our captain took it and scored a goal. We shouted,
“Hooray!” The score was now 2:1. That was better.
Now our team began to play better—or the “bees” were getting
tired. Our team scored another goal before half-time. In the second half of the
match, both teams tried very hard, but neither scored, so at the end the score
was still two all.

One day in July 2005,
I went fishing on Sodus bay. I casted under our own dock with a rubber worm an
BOOM!
A big bass took off
to other side of the dock and I was sure the line was going to break because
his pulling was rubbing the line against sharp rocks. Three times I pulled him
back to my side of the dock and three times he got back to the other side of
the dock. Finally, I got him to my side and he was tired.
I knew that this was
the biggest bass I had ever seen. I worked him towards me and got down on my
belly, reached down and gripped him. However, I didn’t have a good grip at
first and let him down to the water for a few seconds to get a better grip. The
next thing I knew he was swimming away. No! I screamed louder than I ever had.
It was the first time I cried over a fish. What a huge fish. This is true story
and a sad one for me.
